As Thanksgiving approaches, I canāt help but reflect on how much I have to be grateful forāespecially this year, when my own birthday happens to fall right on Thanksgiving! Running Equation for Sweetness has been a wild, wonderful ride, and I wanted to take you behind the scenes of what this season looks like in my kitchen (and my heart).

A Season of Gratitude
First and foremost: thank you. Whether youāve stopped by my booth at a market, placed an online order, commented on a post, or simply cheered me on from afar, your support means the world to me. Every cookie I bake is a little sweeter because of this amazing community.
I also have to give a huge thank you to Max, my husband and true partner in all things sweet. Heās always there to encourage me, help with late-night baking sessions, pack orders, and keep me laughing when things get a little overwhelming. I truly couldnāt do this without himāheās the best partner I could ask for, and Iām so grateful for all the ways he supports Equation for Sweetness (and me!) every single day.
Behind the Apron: Holiday Edition
These weeks leading up to Thanksgiving are some of the busiest (and messiest!) in my kitchen. Thereās dough chilling in the fridge, icing colors being mixed, and the sound of the mixer humming away at all hours. Max is usually nearby, helping with baking or packaging, and thereās always at least one cookie that comes out looking more like a modern art sculpture than a turkey!
Between prepping orders, answering messages, and making sure every cookie is just right, thereās a lot of laughter, a little bit of chaos, and plenty of taste tests. (Quality control is very important, after all!)
Growing, Learning, and Looking Ahead
This year has brought so much growthānew flavors, new designs, and new friends. It hasnāt always been easy, but every challenge has taught me something valuable. Iām excited to keep learning, experimenting, and sharing more sweet moments with you all.
If youāre celebrating this week, I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with good food, laughter, and the people you love. And if you see me at a market, be sure to say hiāIāll be the one with flour in my hair and a big smile (and Max will absolutely be right there with me, helping out and making everyone feel welcome!).
Where to Find Us Next
Weāll be at Jingle Bells on the Bay market at Sanders Beach for Small Business Saturday (Nov 29), and of course we are always available to shop online
. And donāt forget, holiday cookie pre-orders are still open until December 10th!
