Jenny and Max Pavlovsky, founders of Pavlovsky’s Equation for Sweetness, smiling together by the ocean in Pensacola

ABOUT US

Hi, I’m Jenny Pavlovsky, and together with my husband Max, we’re the duo behind Pavlovsky’s Equation for Sweetness.

Honestly, I never thought I could bake—let alone decorate cookies. But when I mentioned to Max that it looked fun, he encouraged me every step of the way. Before I knew it, I’d taken three decorating classes and was completely hooked! Max has always inspired me to try new things, and his support is the reason this bakery exists.

We both care a lot about health, so I work hard to keep artificial ingredients—especially dyes—out of our kitchen. That’s why every cookie you see here is made with plant-based food coloring, never anything artificial.

My favorite part of this business is getting creative with fun, seasonal themes and bright, colorful designs. I always wished I could find cookies that weren’t hard like the ones at the supermarket, so I made sure my recipe is always soft and chewy, no matter the flavor. I love experimenting, so every month brings a new flavor of the month for you to try!

Max is my partner in every sense. He does the dishes between batches, bakes when I fall behind, taste tests, helps package and label, preps samples for markets, loads and unloads the car, and comes with me to every event. He also cheers me on, celebrates when customers love their cookies, helps me brainstorm wild ideas, and reminds me it’s okay when things don’t go as planned. His encouragement means everything.

When you try our cookies or interact with our business, I want you to feel excited and cared for—like you’ve found something special. I hope you feel good about sharing our cookies with your friends or kids, and I want you to be genuinely surprised by how delicious a decorated cookie can be. I want it to feel personal, like you’re supporting a real family, not just buying from a big company.

The name “Pavlovsky’s Equation for Sweetness” comes from Max’s background as a math tutor (and our last name, of course!). Math and baking might sound like an odd combo, but for us, it’s the perfect recipe. Even though I create the recipes and do the decorating, I couldn’t do any of this without Max—so this is our business, not just mine.

Running a business with ADHD definitely keeps things interesting. I love bringing my cookie designs to life, but sometimes my brain has other ideas—like the time I turned off the oven, only to realize later there was a half-baked batch still inside! Max always says it makes life more interesting, and I think he’s right.

If there’s one thing I wish more people knew, it’s that dye-free cookies can be just as bright and beautiful as any others—with a little patience. It takes at least 12 hours for those natural colors to fully develop, but it’s worth the wait! And they taste even better, because there’s nothing artificial or weird in them. Soft, delicious decorated cookies really are possible!

Thanks for being here and for supporting our little family business. We hope our cookies bring a little extra sweetness to your day!
